There are many different types of razors, shavers, sheers, scissors and cutters for personal grooming. Some are meant to be all purpose units while others specialize in certain types of grooming. Electric beard shavers are more powerful and reliable than standard razors but not meant for everyday usage. Whereas a standard razor is designed to handle multiple types of facial and body hair a beard shaver is designed solely to handle beards. Beards are longer, tougher and can generally give standard razors a hard time making the need for these specialty tools a strong one.
